Correspondence courses used to be clunky. Textbooks used to be expensive and heavy. And an IU education used to be out of reach for students with disabilities.
Today, UITS supports online learning, eTexts, and accessible course materials to ensure that IU’s promise is for all.
IU Online makes IU courses and even entire degrees available to students all over the world and helps current students make progress on degree completion.
Students can save money and backaches by using eTexts, enabled by the UITS partnership with the Unizin Consortium. Direct agreements with publishers make eTexts available to students at reduced costs, and eText use is correlated with better learning outcomes. The program saved students over $5 million this year.
