Since the 1940s when IU’s first computers were used for both research and business functions, technology has been supporting and streamlining the business operations of the university. From admissions, class registration, tuition, and academic advising to payroll, human resources, and travel, UITS technologists have built and supported the systems that keep these essential functions working well on a large scale.
Today, new initiatives such as Academic Metrics 360, a flagship project of IU’s Decision Support Initiative, and IU Constituent Relationship Management allow staff to leverage the information in IU systems to make better decisions and communicate more effectively with the many people who interact with IU every day.
